How does Backerkit work?

Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more. To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution. All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands. Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards. Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.

Do you ship internationally?

We can ship to any country EXCEPT those located within the European Union due to GPSR regulations. Here is a list of the excluded countries:

How do I know You'll actually give me the stuff I bought?

We’ve previously fulfilled 6 campaigns with a total of 5,000+ orders over the last two years so you can count on us! Your pledge is a pre-order purchase, so follow along with the project updates to check in on production and fulfillment of your order. When do I get charged for my pledge?

You will be charged for your pledge after the campaign ends on December 11th. There will be a period of 2 weeks after that to correct card information for errored payments. Shipping will be charged separately closer to the fulfillment date, please refer to the project timeline in the campaign’s story for more info!

How do I get updates on my order?

The email you use to place your pledge on Backerkit will be sent update emails throughout the campaign. Once shipping fulfillment begins, you will also receive a tracking number sent straight to that same email! If you happen to lose access to your email at any time, please contact Backerkit support to get help back into your account

What happens if I move before receiving my pledge?

No worries! You can email the ChimeraBunny team at [email protected] and they can make sure you get your rewards to your new address! Stay tuned to the project updates to keep up to date with shipping timelines and when you can expect to receive your order.

What's your refund/return policy?

Refunds and returns are accepted! We want to guarantee customer satisfaction with all of our products, so if you are not satisfied with your pledge items we offer to work out a solution.

I just want an item from the campaign but I don't want to pre-order

The items from this campaign will take several months to produce and pre-ordering will guarantee we make enough inventory for you! However if you don’t wish to pre-order, any leftover inventory will be listed to an online store after the campaign has finished fulfillment.

What happens if I forget about my pledge and don't answer the survey at the end?

Please answer your survey as soon as you can to guarantee we purchase enough inventory to fulfill your order! There will be reminders sent to your email all the way up until fulfillment begins to answer your survey. After addresses lock, if you still have not submitted your survey we will send a last reminder before fully refunding and cancelling your pledge.

What if I move before shipping/fulfillment begins?

No worries! You can always email us [email protected] after surveys lock and we will make sure that is corrected for you. Please take the surveys as soon as you can, you can put your current address if you need but this is how we will know how much stock to order so it’s best to take it early!

When does the bulk production start?

Bulk production will start once surveys lock so we can know how many of each item to order! Please follow along with updates and don’t forget to take the survey, as a late submission may result in us having to refund your order if we did not produce enough of an item.

What if the item I want does not have a sample yet?

No worries! The surveys will stay opened until all samples have been completed and shared in new updates. That way, you can make an informed decision on what items you’d like to get in your order! All items unlocked during the campaign are currently getting samples produced and will continue for the next month or so (depending on how many revisions are needed.)

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
